About Pecha Kucha

PechaKucha Night, now in over 1200 cities, was devised in Tokyo in February 2003 as an event for young designers to meet, network, and show their work to the public. PechaKucha Night Bratislava was established as first Slovak edition in 2008 by punkt. It showcases the work of Slovak artists, designers, architects and creative people of all kinds, in the specific PKN format, with each speaker showing 20 slides x 20 seconds. This ensures that the audience gets to know a lot of interesting people and projects in a dynamic, fun and concise way.

PechaKucha Night Bratislava focuses on local scene in the context of current social issues, and dedicates special editions to reflect Slovak culture within international and V4 region. In 2016, Soyart took over the organisation from punkt, however the same organisational team continues to work on the realization of the event.

Our international cooperations:

“PechaKucha Night Bratislava – Norwegian Editions”

From September 2016 to January 2017 we have been realizing the bilateral project “PechaKucha Night Bratislava – Norwegian Editions” (PKN). The project consists of realizing two international PKN during November 9, 2016 and January 25, 2017 in Bratislava together with Norwegian partner PechaKucha Night Oslo, and one exchange to Norway on December 1, 2016.

The purpose of the project is to strengthen the exchange between platforms of contemporary art and creative scene between Soyart from Slovakia and PechaKucha Night Oslo from Norway, who are both organizers of PechaKucha Nights art forums. The bilateral project activites consist of networking, sharing know-how and mutual re-evaluation based on experiences from organizing of the same kind of events in different cities and context.
