Svetlana Fialová lives and works in Košice and London. She studied at the Faculty of Applied Arts in Košice, at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague and at the present she is in the final year of her PhD. study at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design (VŠVU) in Bratislava. She was a finalist of the VÚB Painting of the year 2011, nominated for the Essl Art Award CEE, finalist of the Critics award for the young painting in Prague, and in 2013, she was awarded with the prestigious Jerwood Drawing Prize in London. She has had solo exhibitions in Paris, Budapest or Vienna, and participated in group projects in London, at the Slovak National Gallery in Bratislava and at the National Gallery in Prague.

The New Synanogue by the world-renowned architect Peter Behrens is under construction, it has nevertheless managed to open up its gates several times. These events announce the future profile of the institution which would every year organize a monographic exhibition, projects at the border with art and other genres, as well as exhibitions with both local and Slovak scene of the contemporary art. An important part of the exhibition program is the accompanying program and the Plusmínusnula gallery with a monthly cycle of exhibitions presenting young artists.

Svetlana Fialová žije a pracuje striedavo v Košiciach a Londýne. Študovala na Fakulte umení v Košiach, Akadémii výtvarných umení v Prahe a v súčasnosti končí doktorandské štúdium na bratislavskej VŠVU. Bola finalistkou VÚB Maľba roka 2011, nominovaná na Essl Art Award CEE, finalistka Ceny kritiky za mladou malbu v Prahe a v roku 2013 sa stala víťazkou prestížnej ceny Jerwood Drawing Prize v Londýne. Absolvovala samostatné výstavy v Paríži, Budapešti či Viedni a bola súčasťou skupinových projektov v Londýne, v Slovenskej národnej galérii v Bratislave a v Národnej galérii v Prahe.

Nová synagóga od svetoznámeho architekta Petra Behrensa je v rekonštrukcii, no už niekoľkokrát sa stihla pootvoriť. Pootvorenia predznamenávajú budúci profil inštitúcie, ktorá by každý rok mala priniesť monografickú výstavu, projekty na hranici umenia a iných žánrov a výstavy pracujúce s lokálnou a slovenskou scénou súčasného umenia. Dôležitou súčasťou výstavného programu je sprievodný program a galéria Plusmínusnula s mesačným rytmom výstav mladých umelcov.
